My Story
With 35 years experience working in food - teaching cookery, nutrition and food hygiene, running restaurants, broadcasting, writing recipes and food articles, carrying out cookery demos at food shows - I'm incredibly passionate about cooking and enabling others to cook. I have a BSc in Food Science, gained at Bath Spa University.
I've been lucky enough to have worked with the likes of Gordon Ramsay, Rosemary Shrager, Brian Turner, Aldo Zilli and Cyrus Todiwala - and I've written several cookery books, the latest being The Four Seasons, which was released in 2024. I taught food and nutrition, in pre-school and school, to GCSE and A Level standard. I've delivered programmes to community groups and to the National Federation of Women's Institutes. At the National Trust, my food history knowledge allowed me to carry out cookery demos and pop ups on topics such as the Food of Dickens and Jane Austen Afternoon Teas. I've written for magazines and worked on many television programmes on the BBC, ITV and Sky, as well as talking live on numerous radio stations about food topics - carrying out regular phone ins on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
Having run restaurants, cooked and managed service for many years, I was responsible for setting up the pop up restaurant in Octavia Hill Birthplace House in Cambridgeshire. It was also a pleasure to produce top class dinners with Brian Turner and Cyrus Todiwala, for over 100 guests - as part of courses I wrote for local schools. In 2022, I was approached to set up a cookery school for The Ferry Project - a registered charity that provides emergency accommodation and longer term help for homeless and vulnerable people in the Fenland area of the UK. The project helps homeless people with accommodation as well as the skills they need to live independently. I set up an intern programme to encourage clients to develop their cookery skills and gain work in the hospitality industry. Awards;
-
Finalist Food Hero category - Velvet Magazine 2025 and 2026
-
Social Enterprise of the year - Fenland Business Awards 2026
-
Finalist - She Inspires Awards 2026
Our Group of Businesses
I hope you love what I'm doing at Fascinating Food, but we also have other businesses in our portfolio.
Wine And Dine www.wineanddine.org.uk
At Wine and Dine we run Food and Wine pairing experiences in your home. I share this business with my partner, Ian, who is a Wine Expert. We combine our passions for a chosen region, grape or theme; introducing you to wines and sharing anecdotes that will transport you to sun drenched vineyards throughout the world. We offer a variety of small dishes to serve alongside wine tastings and we match the food to the wines to enhance the overall tasting experience for you. Our themed events, showcasing amazing food and wine from regions or countries across the hemispheres, are both tasty and inspiring.
We also offer private dining experiences that are the perfect present for a loved one - or a great excuse to have that special party - catering for up to fifteen people. A bespoke three course meal is written especially for your group and paired with a wine.
We also run Vineyard Tours via minibus, making for an immersive learning and tasting experience - and a great day out! In addition we provide consultancy services and advice as well.
Thirsty? Then you can purchase Wine from our online store.
